Sampson and Gregory (Capulets) cause an argument with Abram and Balthasar. Benvolio and Tybalt enter the fight. The head Capulet, his wife, head Montague and his wife enter. They want to fight but the prince of the city enters and stops the fight. He informs all that were involved in the fight that if they were caught fighting in the street again thye would be killed. Everyone leaves except head Montague and Benvolio discuss Romeo and his strange behaviour. The head Montague encourages Benvolio to talk to Romeo. While Benvolio talks to Romeo, Romeo confesses he is in love with a girl who does not love him back.
