Begins with minor key music – introduces a sad story

Setting: Black and white, stage with no audience, single pure white spotlight.

First shot is of the ballet shoes dancing – could represent how the shoes and nina are beautiful and perfect on the outside but painful and ugly on the inside.

First scene fades to black and last scene fades to white.

Single spotlight a lone dancer in white moving gracefully and perfectly when the music becomes intenser a dark figure appears into the spotlight. The music picks up again, uncomfortably loud and the dark figure turns into a scary feather man (struggle) and white dancer pushes her away and shes ‘perfect’ again.

The camera moves unnaturally fast

scene focuses on her facial expressions – closeup

Nina is wearing pink and we see the scratch on her back (right from the start it’s there)

big ballet scene where the guy taps girls some wear black some wear white, upbeat joyful music

mirror moment he says “the white and the black” and his face is seen on two mirrors

uncomfy close up makeout scene and groping – loud breath noises “open your mouth”
